Assessor Question:
I have a client who is looking at using Biax Foundations instead of waffle pods. Could I please have some advice as to how these slabs should be modelled in Firstrate5?

- Waffle pod slabs can be constructed with a variety of void formers.
- They range from solid EPS to hollow EPS to cardboard and in this case to polymer domes.
- NatHERS Technical Note does not define the precise void former technology assumed for selection of waffle pod slab construction.
- Accordingly for BAIX formers it is reasonable to select Waffle Pod slab on ground.
- Due to the dome shape the best match option will be a 100mm concrete slab and total slab depth to suit the particular project structural design
