Question:

We can’t find assemblies for double glazed aluminum doors (hinged or sliding), it doesn’t look as easy as just substitute the frame/rail/sill material to suit?

Response:

  • For TZCC purposes, hinged windows vs. sliding doors haven't separated out.
  • Substitution in this case gets pretty intricate pretty quickly, depending on make and model.
  • For glazed aluminium doors, use aluminium windows (m2 version).  That is likely to be close.  (Glazed aluminum doors usually have thicker profiles, but often more glass, so per m2 is probably reasonably similar to windows.)
